My favorite cat youtube cartoon!
The creator of Simon's cat is seriously creative. All his effort to study, research and understand the cat behavior really shows. It is truly like watching my own cat and reminded of how he acted as a cat or kitten. And that is so cute :)
Enjoy!!

When Your Cat Can't Stop Scratching
Does your cat scratch a lot? Or your cats over-groom for more than hygiene which can result in injury from excessive licking, biting, and results bald patches or redness to the skin. Have your vet check for dermatological problems or parasites first, as all these need to be treated. Skin infection (fungus), lice, fleas and ticks can be a reason.
Usually if you bring them to the vet, the vet will examine and screening you cat using UV light. From UV, you can see the a glowing green spot (protein) at the skin which indicate the fungus existence. Some medicated shampoo routine will be advised and medicated cream or solution to apply to treat fungus. I use Malaseb Shampoo and NaturalPet antifungal lotion.
Flea, ticks and lice:
You can check your cat at home by yourself. Screening over the furs and you can find a dirt like black dots or reds one or “moving” dandruff between the skin. For white coat cat, it may easy to see but for colored fur, you may take a damp white cloth and wipe on you cat coat. You may see the black or red dot. That is your enemies. I’m using Frontliner Spray and Spot on. It’s promising and effective. The eggs or spores can be transferred from a pet to anything in your house like carpets and household furniture. It is recommended which you also treat the home and check out other animals. Vacuum cleaning, disinfect the house and cages will do. I use Petdiatric Black Series to disinfect. Bear in your mind, there could be an issue of excessive stress. If your cat is grooming too much because of stress, such as a change in routine or a new animal in the house, you can take steps to ease the problem.
Good Luck!

Play Time~
All cats love the feather teaser. I keep on buying the new one every 2 month because it wont last so long. I never tire watching them play and do their thing. Each of them has a different personality and style. This time I want to introduce my kids toys: If they are not sleep or busy destroying my toilet paper and magazines and messing our home, they must be busy playing with their toys.
First one is ToyToy. We get it from Pets Wonderland since Chika complain he need friend for his brain development. Chika loves to ask me to play with ToyToy: The Catch me game. He will jump over the couch and coffee table untill he out of his breath and start to make a funny sound. When Chika was a kitten, he used to do back flips trying to get at ToyToy. Sometimes he can play with ToyToy alone!! After playing "Catch me", He will bite and parade with ToyToy in his mouth around the house and bragging his success! Even when ToyToy's body parts is now a part, Chika still in love with ToyToy!!After drooling around with ToyToy he will groom ToyToy as he grooms himself.

Pinka on the other hand is a bad toy! This fish-shape pillow always manipulate Chippy and Chumy to be in the carrier for Vet visit. Pinka always use her Catnip perfume and manipulate Chippy and Chummy but wont stop them to chase after a laser pointer. If there's one toy cats never seem to tire of, it must be a laser pointer.
And then we have ShhhShhh and Blackie where we brought back from Ikea. Both are meant for Choco.
Everyone know Choco will play rough and bite us like a pugs! So ShhhShhh and Blackie is our victim to protect our finger from Choco's teeth! Sorry guys. Its really effective during the grooming session.
Amarise love to play with a ping pong balls and she never seem to get tired of playing. I make sure they always have something new and challenging to play with. Cat toys don't cost a lot, so reward and challenge your Cat with something new to play! Now I have to buy some toy for Cottilion since she keep stealing others toy and messing with my small garden!

Stud Tails
At first, i thought that neutered cat wont face this kind of problem. I'm wrong. turn out that stud tail is quite normal if you own a male cat. Neutered or not. Its perfectly normal but if it left untreated, the tail will get greasy and start losing hair. If you realize, there is a dark pigmentation of the skin too.
My lovely Chika now look like a chicken! He is so fat but the tail is bald. Check out the pic..
Currently I'm using dish washing liquid to remove the dirt and oil, and quickly wash and rinse it before shampooing. If there is no improvement, i'll treat it with GOOP. Thats what Jimmy Lee taught us during Grooming Class. And as a precautionary i have sprinkled talc into the area to absorb oils and brushed it out after the bath..
Stud tail. Should dea with it before it is too late ;P
Let see if there is any improvement~

Cat Show
Cat show is the place where you can meet new friends and share knowledge about the breed to other exhibitors and also the public. Preparing for a cat show should begin several weeks or a month before.
I bath my cat 2 days before the show to ensure the coat is fully dry and fluffy, Clean their ears and trim their nails. You can send them to your fav groomer~ Last time I did send my cat to a professional groomer and he did a very GOOD job! But can do it all by yourself too~
This is my second time joining the show. Last time we brought Choco and Chika to compete. Choco participated Open Female Longhair Class and Chika in Neutered Longhair Class. But this time I brought Chippy for Neutered Longhair Class and my little kitten: Cottilion for Kitten Longhair Class.
I learned a lot from Kak Yati, the owner of Bluebabes catery. If its in between rings, she offers visitor antiseptic hand wash, explaining why we must disinfect before touching other cats, especially children. "please don't touch their nose ya.. cos that area is very sensitive."
Yes.. its tiring but its all paid off!!

My Amarise giving birth~
When i took her in 5 months ago, i never thought she is pregnant. Until one day my friends Hasnan and Ash convinced me that Amarise came with a gift. At first i thought she just a heavy eater. I just moved in my new apartment and at that time i'm not sure i'm ready to have additional kittens in my furkids family~ So i just waited. I have no idea when she's going to give birth because i have no idea when she mated. Normal persian will give birth 65-68 days after mating.
But thank God, everything went fine. On 29th of November when i reached home from office alone, she kept calling me to accompany her in her room and at that's when the miracle happen!! Seriously i have no idea what to do. What i did was i grabbed some of Joey's hands towels and pet my dear Amarise. i'm called my friend and ash to come over after the 1st baby was born..

The day. The big day!!
I try to believe that she is just a heavy eater. She eats a lot and purrs all the time. I thought in the first place she may be on heat. But she did not even took a glance at my neutered prince. She just loves to eat. We feed our kids with IAMS kitten and she never left anything in her bowl. She just finished it all. We even send her for vaccinations.
Until one day friend of mine pay a visit and try to convince me that she is pregnant! OMG! I just moved in to my new apartment and am still trying to adjust myself and the cat that i took in for less than 2 months is pregnant! i'm about to have babies of my cat! I dont know how i felt at that time.. a part of me is blooming happily but a part of me is full with worries. I have another 2 cats of mine. and i will have another kittens? So later i will have 6 cats? and i'm living in apartment! Yes I'm worried.
Day after day, and in no time her tummy is getting bigger and bigger and she become more friendly. Her appetite grew bigger and she eats more and more, until on this one Friday there was still kibbles in her bowl. Her tail is wet and i think her water just broke. So I brought her to my cat spa to shave her tummy. Back at home, i cage her with boxes and blanket to make her comfortable and feels safe. Every hour i check on her but nothing happen. On the 28th, Joey was so excited that the babies would have the same birthday as him. But again nothing happen.
Next day, I started to worried and started doing more research. I know that she may faced a false pregnancy but the most thing i worried is if something goes wrong with the babies inside. Then after work i decide to send her to our vet for scanning but once i reach home she wanted me to stay with her in the bedroom. i went to my wardrobe but she insisted that i stayed with her.
After changed i lay next to her in my bedroom then she start to breath heavily..some fluid and a little blood started to dirt on the towel. and the first baby comes out in the sac struggling be be out. I try to calm my queen even i'm a lil panic because this is my first time faced this miracle of birth. Amarise look confuse. She even hissing at her baby. but after few minutes she smell the kitten and start to lick him up.
My 2 other cat wait outside my bedroom. I just want Amarise felt safe and secure. Then Joey is back and come into the room. Then the second contraction is coming. She stop lick her 1st baby and she purring again. Another sac is out and Joey reach the second kitten to Amarise.
The kitten is crying out loud and only be silent after been lick by Amarise. Amarise clean up the baby. She start to eat the placenta. I help up to cut the cord with clean scissor. We document the scene with Joey's iphone. My cat-fancy friend Ash also there for support. Amarise start to show her motherhood and start to nursing the baby.
After 10 minutes she starts her 3rd contraction. Her breath getting heavily. She purring and this time the larger sac is out. The 3rd kitten is out. The baby is bigger than the other. She clean the baby and put the baby together with the 1st and 2nd one.
She start to clean herself..

3 days only.. OK?
Selamat Hari Raya!! So, you are going back to your home town? Gathering with your family and loved one. But who is looking after your fur-babies? Although some cats travel well, most really don't enjoy traveling. If you're going to be gone only a day or two and your cat free feeds and has no special care needs, you might be able to leave him alone with plenty of food, water, and litter. But if you'll be gone longer or if your cat needs medication or can't free feed, you'll need to make other arrangements.
Whether you choose to board him or hire a pet-sitter to come in, make reservations as much ahead of time as possible.
Many Petshop accept cats, and many vets offer boarding for client's pets. If your cat requires special care due to medical problems, consider boarding your cat at the vet's when you travel. Good boarding petshop can handle most routine support for cats with special needs. Consider your cat's overall comfort, the quality of care and attention he'll receive, and how long he'll be boarded. Some cats find the atmosphere of a veterinary facility very stressful, so a boarding petshop that accepts or specializes in cats might be better!
Ask your family, friends, and veterinarian for good boarding facility recommendations. Before you make a reservation, ask for a tour. The facilities should be clean and reasonably free of odors. Cats should be boarded separately and should have no physical contact with their neighbors. It is a prevention step for any disease. Find out who will handle your cat and who else will have access to him. Be particular! Its for your own good. Feel free? you may try this link : http://www.petknode.com.my/
Chika and Choco prefer to stay at home, so I found that a pet-sitter is a better choice than other boarding facility. You should consider this option. Usually the sitter visits the home a specified number of times each day, although some can be hired to stay full-time, sitting not just your cat but also your home, plants, newspapers, and mail. To find a qualified pet-sitter, ask your veterinarian and friends for recommendations. Or maybe your friend can offer helps! :P
It's essential that you feel good about the sitter you hire, for your cat's well-being and your own peace of mind. Selamat Hari Raya!! Drive safe and Enjoy your holiday!!

Zaaaaaassssssss!!!! Meow~
Well.. early this month I sent my only dear boy Chika, to be neutered. So we received many mails and phone calls asking about the procedure. Then its a good things to write-in my experience and share some tips and advice. As you know Chika was born with one undescended testicle or monorchid in medical term. What happened was, only one testicle came out and the other one was up in his abdomen. It could be cancerous if we don’t get it removed. So I have decided to get him fixed. I checked with few vets since Chika case is kinda critical and surveyed on the package and price until I found out about Klinik Kembiri. Actually I do know about Klinik Kembiri and I trusted their services since I sent my fren’s cat there few times before but I thought that they wont accept critical case like Chika's. But it turned out they were happy to accept Chika's case.Coincidently, my close-friend Shirley also wanted to neuter her male cat. So I book an appointment at the clinic for her cat and mine together. So the night before the procedure, I fed Chika with his favourite meal and put him in fast after 9 pm prior to the procedure. At night, Chika slept with us. He don’t play much . The next day I took out his carrier and put on my coffee table and open its door. Suprisingly, Chika just come in the carrier and laid quietly. Somehow he knew we will bring him somewhere. In the car we let Chika out of his carrier. Usually, this is when he will meowed out loud. But this time he just busy with his discovery mission as usual. Sniffing around like no tomorrow.
I met Shirley with his male cat at Tesco Ampang. We drove together to Setapak to Klinik Kembiri which is just only 20 minutes drive. We reached Klinik Kembiri around 9:40am and get ourselves registered at security registration and went in to the clinic. There were few cats in the separated carrier already numbered. We waited in the office until Dr Krishnan came in. There was a form to be filled and signed. Some questions to be answered and explanations to be understood. After everything was cleared and agreed, we handed our cats to Dr Krishnan. Chika remained silent. Maybe he got annoyed with the noise from other cats. Chika was numbered. His lucky number was 11. We're set to go as Dr Krishnan will call us upon the compeltion of the operation. While waiting for Chika, I went to the PC Fair at KLCC. Well around 1pm we received a phone call from Klinik Kembiri telling us that Chika was fixed. What a relief, and we're dying to see him. We got back at Klinik Kembiri and Chika was high on anesthetic!! Hahahahaa.. poor thing. He tried to greet us but he was too week. The vet advised me on his condition and gave some advise on the post-sugery care. Our cost of operation was RM150.00 since Chika have a unique case of neuter. We brought Chika and Shirley’s cat home since Shirley have a pet grooming class. Guys, if you're planning to send your cat there, appreciate if you can pick your cat before 4pm~ It's weekend and the vet need rest too hihihihi…
By the time we got home, Shirley’s cat was awake. He only required a normal procedure of neuter and cost only RM50.00!! FYI, all the money will go to the SPCA Charity. And the receipt, you can keep it and use to get your tax exemption as your payment is considered as donation!! I kept Shirley’s cat in my study room and put some food and a bowl of water and also a litter box. From time to time we check on him. He started sniffing around like a normal cat and kept himself rested in the room while waiting for Shirley to pick him up. At around 5pm Shirley showed up to pick him. Another happy customer.
Chika on other hand was still under sedative. I checked the operation area and surprise that his abdomen have been shaved revealing his wobbly one pack (Maybe the vet is trying to find another ball.) and the cut was clean. I’ve been advised that we must observe our cat everyday for days. This is to ensure the cat is fine and the sedative doesn’t have that much effect on the cat. I applied some gamat gel from House of Healin on the cut. I got this tips form one of PF (Petfinder. Well I’ll let you know what is PetFinder in the next post) and I can see that the wounds get better. Now Chika is like the old chika.. No more spraying, and moody. He turn to be my old Chika.. the kitten version!! He is so lovely and not so territorial like before. I'm relief.
So guys.. All the best!! Go for neuter or spay them if you think you can't handle more than you can!!Errkk.. i mean your cats!!!
